Maximum points for local cricketers

Balderton & Collingham have a day to remember

A second consecutive maximum twenty points for Collingham Cricket Club as they maintained their position at the top of the South Notts Cricket League Division One. Their match at Dale Field against Cavilers and Carrington saw the divisions top two go head to head but with the visitors never recovering from David Pipes excellent spell of bowling, 4-35 off twelve overs the match turned out to be a one sided affair.
Chasing 161 for victory and after the brief scare of losing opener Jacob Fisher in the opening overs Mohammad Mohsin steered his team home with an unbeaten 89 with 20 overs to spare

To complete a perfect local weekend Balderton came back  from West Bridgeford with a maximum points haul. The “Coronation Street” club made the perfect start with Aaron Charlesworth running out the home sides danger man Rhys Hayes for a duck. Tight bowling saw Bridgford bowled out for 206, it was going to be about keeping the nerve and despite slipping to 58/3 an unbeaten 70 from Shalith Fernando supported by Chris Dobbie (36) saw them home with four wickets to spare.

All that sets up the the first local derby of the season very nicely, 12.30 next Saturday at Coronation Street, not to be missed!
